Taking Ownership of Yourself

No Price is to high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.

As human beings we give up to much of ourselves, and as women I think the price is double and I do not believe that that was the way it was supposed to be.

I think we all started out as dreamers, then we were told to get our heads out of the clouds, not to be ridiculous, that is the stupidest thing I ever heard, and the dreams are destroyed and all the sparkle in our heart and mind are gone.

The horses rear-end saying those things won. They broke our spirit and isolated our world. They made us feel insecure about who we are and who we want to be, then just about the time your starting to figure out the parental damage, we date some controlling Son of a gun that has his own issues and to get along in life he has to tear you down so he can feel big, if we would have felt the love that God wants us to feel as children at home we never would have met this guy.  oh, and let’s not forget the donkey of a preacher that will tell you just quicker than heck that you gotta live with that, I got something for that preacher! You like him so much you live with him!

And by the way the Bible I read doens’t say anything about being anyone’s door mat! But maybe he thinks its okay and normal because that’s how he keeps his wife in chains of bondage with.

Oh, and of course let’s forgive the son of a gun, why?  If he never says he is sorry or wrong, I don’t owe him any forgiveness, God don’t forgive me until I am sorry or wrong, so that goes both ways. I do forgive myself for being so Naively insecure that I looked for love in the wrong place, but it is a learning curve.

Giving out free forgiveness is right up there with eating dog dung, Leaves a mighty bad taste in my mouth, and it should yours to. I will do what Christ did, move on and let the dead bury the dead.

Every word of what I just described her is abuse, weather it is a parent, spouse, friend, colleague, or preacher it is flat our wrong. Anytime I can’t be myself to please you I lose my freedom, and I become the abused.

So how do I learn to defend myself appropriately? By finding your own voice, looking into your own heart and knowing that if feels right, and more intentionally knowing your own intentions in your decisions, are they fair to yourself and others? Is this beneficial to all involved, does it hold others up or pull them down.

That’s how and it is that simple.

You shall love your neighbor as yourself, Matthew 22:39

You probably cannot even look at your neighbors and find anything good about them if you don’t like yourself, I am not talking about dressing to impress, get something or be accepted by someone, just liking yourself. Are your actions toward yourself aligned with what you believe you want for yourself?

You want to be thin, do you eat healthy, in proper proportions? Are you trying to use food to fill up your empty. Lonely, disappointed life, or maybe another substance, or is your food nourishment? All is measured by your own truth, no one else can or has the right to measure you.

No one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church. Ephesians 5:29

The sentimentality of this verse is logical, however most of us hurt ourselves one way or another.  Eat to much, believe the lies others tell you about yourself, society has put a pound number on every one of us, and then there is always the person that no matter what you do you cannot please, and it is not really your fault, it is theirs, but we are broken enough to by in and take there crap.

Well I am here to tell you that if you don’t stick up for yourself no one else will. Some will enjoy the beating you take from others. Some will talk behind your back and enjoy your pain, and that is their sickness.

Don’t worry about what others think of you, in there criticizing I promise you they will never ever be there when the chips are down, not even “the Christians”, that’s a name they use to help themselves feel better, it has nothing to do with how they treat or mistreat you. Hurting people will always hurt other people, until someone lifts them up and starts the healing process, even Christians are hurting, when they are hurting others they are not in a healing process themselves.

Taking your self back involves thinking for yourself and listening to what is going on around you, hearing what they are saying not what you would just hear and put up with. Also you finding your words to repeat back to you what they say, so you know they understand that you understand what they said.

People really talk some stupidity and double talk. What they say is seldom what they mean and what they don’t say in the grand scheme of things is not even close to honest about you, they are really referring to themselves and there own inadequate place in our broken world.

I often feel I am on the planet of nice amongst the lets not really say what we mean people, you know the feeling right, prim proper and don’t tell a joke or smile, it might crack your face people. Yikes!

Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the Future Proverbs 31:25

I love straight up, straight talking people, that say what they mean and mean what they say.  When they tell you something not so perfect about yourself, its because they love you and help you, not to tear you up and make you feel like crap, they have the integrity to say it to your face, and take pride in the fact that you are the friend that they can talk to honestly, and are not insulted by honest caring instead of reckless tearing up, finding solutions for all the hurt in their lives, through the comfort of caring people.

I have no use for liars , cheats , thugs, control freaks, or anyone else that enjoys the emotional pain stealing hope of others, the TV will insult you if you listen to it a few minutes, so you just as well turn it of to, and let yourself enjoy your own ownership for a bit, the more you do that the more you won’t need the opinions of others , you won’t have to  rely on the ignorance of others that allows you to feel bad.

Everyone has an opinion even me, but they are like rear-ends, some are bigger than others and some stink more.

After all you are made in the image of God, purely and wonderfully, so whatever someone else told you is bunk. Psalm 139 tells you what God thinks about you, its a good place to go to feel loved and adored.
